Six students of ”Nicolae Testemitanu” University obtained merit scholarships from the state

Six students of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy will receive scholarships from the state for academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities.
According to a government decision, approved on September 20, holders of the President's Scholarship, the Republic Scholarship and the Government Scholarship in the academic year 2023-2024 are:
Mihaela Coșpormac – fifth year student, Medicine study program, Faculty of Medicine no. 1 – President's Scholarship, in the amount of 1,845 lei per month;
Maria-Magdalena Pojoga – sixth year student, Medicine study program, Faculty of Medicine no. 1 – Republic Scholarship, in the amount of 2030 lei;
Diana Șumanschi – sixth year student, Medicine study program, Faculty of Medicine no. 1 – Republic Scholarship;
Daniela Fornea – fourth year student, Pharmacy study program, Faculty of Pharmacy - Government Scholarship, in the amount of 1690 lei;
Daria Calitca – fourth year student, Stomatology study program, Faculty of Stomatology – Government Scholarship;
Al Faraj Iunis – fourth year student, Medicine study program, Faculty of Medicine no. 1 – Government scholarship.
Students eligible for the contest attended classes on a regular basis and obtained, in the summer session of the previous year of studies, an average grade no lower than "9" in the technical, agrarian, economic, medical, military, law fields and exact sciences (mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology) and not lower than "9.5" in other fields of study.
88 applicants from higher education establishments and 43 applicants from vocational training institutions participated in the competition, the candidates being selected according to the following criteria: grade point average, involvement in educational, research, cultural and sports activities, number of publications, etc.
Overall, 77 students and pupils from the country's universities and colleges will enjoy financial aid from the state: Republic Scholarship – 12, Government Scholarship – 30, President's Scholarship – 15, Gaudeamus Scholarship – 20.
The awarding of merit scholarships is part of the policies promoted by the government to strengthen the higher education system and align it with the EU standards, to increase the national and international competitiveness of the country’s post-secondary vocational and higher education institutions, by supporting performance and meritocracy.
