European Researcher's Night 2022 in Chisinau

Traditionally, on the last Friday of the current September, along with most European states, the European Researchers' Night was held in the Republic of Moldova.

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy was represented at this event by researchers from: the Tissue Engineering and Cell Culture Laboratory, the Gastroenterology Laboratory, the Hepatic Surgery Laboratory, Pavel Godoroja Department of Dental Propaedeutics, Ion Lupan Department of Pediatric Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pedodontics, the Discipline of Geriatrics and Occupational Medicine and the Scientific-Practical Center in the field of Medicinal Plants.

Researchers and inventors presented their innovations with the help of demonstration materials: microscopes, electronic devices, video materials, posters, etc. The attention of the public, especially children, was captured by the demonstration, but also by the possibility of personally using oral hygiene sample products.

Subsequently, the scientific researchers held several public lectures on various topics, such as the manufacture of threads from biological material for inoculation therapy; applications of collagen extracted from placenta and umbilical cord in tissue engineering; liver functions and prevention of liver diseases; the latest techniques of ozone therapy; oral microbial biofilm: health hazards and opportunities for control; method of studying microscopic preparations through MedNotes application etc.

The European Researchers’ Night is a project initiated by the European Union Research Commission in 2005, which takes place on the same day in all member and affiliated countries, with the aim of promoting science among the general public. The celebration of science and research is supported by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme and aims to demonstrate what it means to be a researcher and how exciting research work can be.

This year, the event was organized in over 400 European cities from 25 countries. In our country, the event took place in Chisinau, in the Park of the Technical University of Moldova, and in the square of Alecu Russo State University in Balti.
